Sunken Ships & Planes In Micronesia
In the tropical island of Kosrae in Micronesia, located between Hawaii and Guam, are the most unexplored coral reefs in the world. In this regard, tourism authorities of the island has plenty to offer for lovers of scuba diving.
To start this Lenora - a XIX century sailing ship, which once was a sea storm merchant ship by pirate Bally Hayes. It lies at a depth of 12 meters in the harbor of the island Utwe. A pirate who ruled sailing ship, used Kosrae as a shelter. In 1874, Lenora sank during a typhoon. It was found at the bottom only 110 years later.
In another harbour Kosrae, Lelu, at a depth of 21 meters lies another old ship - whaling ship of 1800. In the same harbour in the 40-50s of last century, sank two military seaplane Martin PBM Mariner. One of them is now at a depth of over 20 meters, the second is in the northern part of the harbor at a depth of 15 meters.
And more recently in the waters of Lily was detected another aircraft. This is airplane Grumman Albatross, which belonged to the naval forces of the United States. It lies at a depth of 30 meters, so the time for its examination is limited.
A large part of the Japanese Navy is now at the bottom of a shallow Truk lagoon in Micronesia, south-west of Hawaii. Blue depths which were surveyed by Jacques Cousteau in 1971 and covered with fragments of warships and aircraft carriers sunk in 1944 now became available for divers. However, some divers are still afraid of the crew, who still didnt left their fighting positions. Ships and planes had grown long in the coral reefs, but still their victims become the more and more curious tourists.

The Marshall Islands
The Marshall Islands are trying to avoid the sad fate - marine engineers presented the project of building the 5-kilometer dike, which should protect the archipelago from flooding.
The government has formally asked the UNO to provide financial assistance. The "construction project of life" takes only $ 20 million, these funds should be sufficient for the first phase of the wall. The construction will be built directly into the sea on the leeward side of the capital atoll of Majuro, consisting of 64 small islands. Dike height of several meters and a width of not less than 5 km will distribute the weight of water on small "buffer" coves and crashing waves during storms.
This unique project, which scale design can be compared with the erection of the ancient Great Wall of China. "Marshallian wall" is also needed to save the life of an entire country. Most islands do not rise above the highest tidal point even on the meter. In this case, residential buildings on the same Majuro, where, incidentally, are key administrative areas as well as an international airport, separated from the shoreline up to 10 meters.
With the growth in global sea level all the low-lying atolls fairly rapidly disappear under water. In recent years, the sea rises by 3-5 cm a year. UN experts predict the Climate to the end of this century, the water level may rise by 120-150 cm in this case, the ocean would burry not only the Marshall Islands, but also popular tourist Maldives. In addition, experts predict big trouble coast of China, Egypt and the Indian states of Kerala and Goa. Their flooding may occur in the next few decades.
